The short version: we don't sell or rent your data, we never see your password, and we'll delete your account and everything in it whenever you ask.

What we collect

Pop Reminders is a shared family reminder app. To do that job it stores:

Reminders fire as real alarms on your device. Scheduling those alarms happens on the phone itself, which is why they still go off on time, offline, even if the app was closed.

We don't use advertising or analytics SDKs, and we don't collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. If you do, we ask Google for read-only access to your calendars (the calendar.readonly scope). We never create, change, or delete anything in your calendar.

With that access we read the list of your calendars and, for the calendars you turn on, the title and start time of events in the next 30 days. We store those titles and times with your family's data so matching events can become reminders, and we store the access token Google gives us so the sync keeps running. Events that are cancelled or fall outside the 30-day window are removed.

Tap Disconnect account on the Calendar screen and we delete the stored token and your connected calendars. You can also revoke access any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Pop Reminders' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google Calendar data only to create and show your reminders. We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or let people read it except where you ask us to for support, it's needed for security, or the law requires it.

What we don't do

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that make the app run: Google Firebase (sign-in, database, and push delivery), Google Calendar (only if you connect it), and Amazon Web Services (invite and feedback emails). They process data on our behalf under their own terms. We also share information if the law requires it.

The people in your family

Pop is built to be shared. When you add someone to a group, the members of that group can see the reminders, who they're assigned to, and when they were popped. That visibility is the point of the product; keep it in mind when you invite people. Group admins can manage membership.

Security and retention

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS) and is stored in Google Cloud, which encrypts it at rest. Access rules limit your family's content to the members of your groups. We keep your data while your account exists and delete it when you ask us to.

Age

Pop Reminders is for people 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Deleting your data

Delete your account any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and removes your account, your profile and devices, your personal reminders, any group only you belong to, any feedback you sent, and your Google Calendar connection. In a group you share, the reminders assigned to you and your activity-feed entries are removed, the group keeps running for everyone else, and if you were its only admin the next member becomes admin.

Can't get into the app? Email support@popreminders.com from your account address and we'll delete it for you within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and, when it's significant, tell you in the app.
